Using Connectivity to Create a Healthy Community

Who We Are

Over the past few years, a group of interested citizens and organizations have been working to develop multi-use, recreational trails in the Three Rivers area. In 2011, the River Country Recreational Authority (RCRA) was established to focus on making more recreation trails a reality for our community.

Since that time effort has been made to increase collaboration and provide equal representation from the Three Rivers area.  The RCRA currently consists of membership from the City of Three Rivers, Fabius Township, Park Township and representation from St. Joseph County.  While the RCRA continues to lead the efforts in building trails for the area, they are a dedicated group focused on providing a multitude of recreational opportunities for residents and visitors to the Three Rivers community.

RCRA Master Plan Review

Over the next five years, RCRA efforts will be toward developing a network of multi-use recreational trails and related infrastructure and facilities including:

  • Non-motorized trail development
  • Park improvements to support non-motorized trail development
  • Low maintenance cost recreational opportunities
  • Accessibility
  • Foster community relationships between municipalities and other groups
  • Improved public health and safety via exercise opportunities

Community input is important to building new trails. Please feel free to review our Master Plan and provide feedback as needed.
