COVERED BRIDGE FARM MASTER PLAN – ST. JOSEPH COUNTY

In late 2015, St. Joseph County acquired approximately 6 acres of rural
property on the north bank of the St. Joseph River, directly north of
Langley Covered Bridge. Land acquisition for public use, especially land
with river access, aligns with goals of the County’s Parks & Recreation
Master Plan and Water Trail Master Plan. This property, bordered
by active farmland to the north and east, includes a farmhouse and
historic barn. The planning and design firm of Edgewater Resources
of St. Joseph, Michigan, was tasked in early 2016 with Master Planning
services to determine the best use of this property to both preserve
its unique character and meet the recreation needs of the people of St.
Joseph County.
